Russia’s ambassador to Egypt celebrates vibrant and enduring human and cultural exchanges
In a heartwarming celebration of deep-rooted friendship, Russia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Georgiy Borisenko, affirmed the strength of modern human connections and the vibrant cultural exchange between Russia and Egypt.
The ambassador highlighted the central role that Russian and Soviet experts have played in developing Egyptian dance and ballet arts.
During a press conference held at the Russian Embassy in Cairo for the launch of the "World Dance Premiere" project, Ambassador Borisenko emphasised the rich collaboration between the two nations.
As part of this initiative, the acclaimed Russian National Ballet company "Kostroma" has arrived in Egypt, performing a special show at the Cairo Opera House in honor of Russia’s National Day.
Elena Tsarenko, the head and producer of the Kostroma ballet troupe, expressed her enthusiasm for a unique program that celebrates folk dance traditions.
The troupe has previously taken this cross-cultural initiative to China and the UAE, with plans to expand to other BRICS countries — including future projects in Egypt. As part of this artistic exchange, the Russian ballet conducted workshops for students at the Egyptian Academy of Arts and staged a joint performance with Egypt’s renowned "Reda Troupe" for popular arts.
Maria Vishkina, director of the regional ballet school, spoke about the "International Creative Dacha" project set to launch soon.
This program will give dancers and choreographers from BRICS countries exceptional opportunities to immerse themselves in the world of Russian dance art, paving the way for deeper artistic understanding and international friendships.
These initiatives showcase not only the enduring ties between Russia and Egypt but also a shared commitment to cultural diversity and creative collaboration, inspiring mutual respect and joy among people from all walks of life.
