Egypt's health minister stresses private sector partnerships at global conference
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy PM and Health Minister, underscored effective public-private partnerships to improve medical services and citizen care.
Speaking at a session titled "Public-Private Partnerships in Healthcare: Global Lessons to Egyptian Context" during the 3rd World Conference on Population, Health, and Development (Nov 12-15), held under President El-Sisi’s patronage, he cited clear legislation and the Gustave Roussy Hospital (formerly Dar El Salam-Herem) as a success model—95% of patients covered by insurance or state funds.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, ministry spokesperson, said the session reviewed global experiences, legal frameworks, investment priorities, and strategies to boost financing, infrastructure, and access.
