Egypt, India set roadmap for closer economic, political collaboration

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel Aaty, welcomed India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, today for discussions aimed at further strengthening ties between the two nations.

Both ministers praised the remarkable progress that Egyptian-Indian relations have witnessed in recent years. They reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, especially economic, trade, and investment fields, reflecting the deep and historic partnership that links Egypt and India.

During the talks, the two sides expressed anticipation for the 14th round of Political Consultations, scheduled to take place in Cairo in February at the level of Assistant Foreign Ministers.

In addition, they looked ahead to the 8th session of the Egypt-India Joint Commission, which will be co-chaired by the respective Foreign Ministers in June 2026. Both officials also underscored the importance of establishing a bilateral Business Council and launching an Egyptian-Indian Chamber of Commerce to strengthen ties between the private sectors of both countries.

On the economic front, Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Foreign Minister, also met with Minister Singh after the official talks. The meeting focused on further advancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation. Both parties affirmed their ambition to elevate bilateral collaboration to new heights, supporting the shared interests and prosperity of their peoples.

These discussions mark another significant step in the growing partnership between Egypt and India, setting the stage for continued strategic cooperation in the years ahead.
