Lebanese delegation celebrates ancient Egyptian civilization at Grand Museum Museum
The Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo recently welcomed Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Mr. Nawaf Salam, accompanied by Minister of Culture Mr. Ghassan Salameh, Minister of Energy and Water Mr. Joseph Assadi, and other dignitaries as part of an official visit to Egypt.
The Lebanese delegation was received by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, who guided them through a tour of the museum. The group explored key areas including the expansive outdoor plaza, the impressive main hall, the grand staircase, and the renowned main exhibition galleries—twelve in total—each offering an immersive journey through the fascinating chapters of ancient Egyptian civilization, from the earliest dynasties to the Greco-Roman period.
During the tour, Ms. Souad Mohamed from the Public Relations and Protocol team provided an engaging overview of the museum’s diverse exhibits and rare archaeological treasures, highlighting the unique curatorial approach and the institution’s commitment to showcasing Egypt’s extraordinary heritage.
At the conclusion of their visit, the Lebanese Prime Minister and his delegation expressed their deep admiration for the museum’s achievements and its critical role in preserving a monument of global cultural significance. The guests praised both the extraordinary quality of the exhibitions and the world-class efforts made by the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority in bringing the legacy of ancient Egypt to visitors from around the world.
