Egypt triumphs at the 4th Arab Aquatics Championship in Morocco
The Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, has congratulated the Egyptian Swimming Federation for a remarkable victory at the 4th Arab Aquatics Championship, hosted in Morocco from August 28 to September 1, 2025.
Under the leadership of Engineer Yasser Idris, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Egypt’s national aquatics team delivered an outstanding performance, clinching the championship title ahead of top competitors from Morocco and Qatar.
Minister Sobhi praised the Egyptian athletes’ achievements, emphasizing that this victory adds to Egypt’s growing success in regional and international sports. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to supporting sports federations in cooperation with the Egyptian Olympic Committee, to ensure sustained excellence and to elevate Egypt’s presence on the global stage.
Egyptian swimmers and divers dominated the medal table with an impressive haul of 173 medals: 94 gold, 53 silver, and 26 bronze. The team also secured six championship cups across all youth age categories for both boys and girls (ages 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18).
The Egyptian U-16 water polo team also celebrated a strong victory, defeating Saudi Arabia 24-1, securing the championship even before the final match against Kuwait.
This latest accomplishment highlights Egypt’s consistent strength in aquatics and its ongoing investment in the success and well-being of its young athletes.
