Bahrain’s Crown Prince strengthens ties with Egypt amid regional challenges
Egypt and Bahrain have reaffirmed their deep, historic bonds and highlighted new chapters of cooperation following the official visit of Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to Cairo on September 3rd, 2025.
Warm greetings were exchanged between H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, reflecting the enduring friendship and mutual respect shared by both nations.
During the high-level talks, the two sides emphasized their pride in the strategic partnership between Egypt and Bahrain, commending Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting Arab causes. Both leaders reiterated their strong commitment to opening new avenues of cooperation, particularly in economic, investment, tourism, finance, technology, and cultural fields, in line with the aspirations of both peoples.
The official meetings included expanded discussions among senior officials and business leaders from both countries, leading to the signing of several memoranda of understanding and joint agreements. Both leaders praised the results of the Egyptian-Bahraini Business Forum held in Cairo as a vital bridge between their business communities.
Egypt congratulated Bahrain on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2026–2027, expressing full confidence in Bahrain’s ability to represent Arab interests, especially the Palestinian cause. Bahrain, in turn, voiced strong support for Egypt’s candidate for UNESCO Director-General.
On regional developments, the two countries emphasized that Bahrain’s security is integral to Egypt’s national security, and they pledged ongoing coordination to address regional challenges and safeguard stability in the Middle East.
Both Egypt and Bahrain reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages, the protection of civilians, and swift access to humanitarian aid. They firmly rejected any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land.
Finally, Egypt expressed deep appreciation for Bahrain’s ongoing support for Gaza’s recovery efforts and looks forward to Bahrain’s participation in the upcoming Cairo International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza.
This official visit underscored the shared vision and enduring friendship between Egypt and Bahrain, paving the way for broadening horizons of collaborative progress and stability in the region.
