Danish ambassador praises Egypt’s humanitarian role for Gaza during North Sinai visit
North Sinai, Egypt — The Danish Ambassador to Egypt, Lars Bo Møller, has completed a two-day visit to North Sinai, highlighting Denmark’s deep concern for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and reaffirming strong support for regional stability.
In a statement shared by the Danish Embassy in Cairo on Thursday, Ambassador Møller emphasized Denmark’s steadfast partnership with Egypt and its appreciation for the significant humanitarian efforts led by Egyptian authorities.
During his visit, Ambassador Møller held a constructive meeting with Major General Dr. Khaled Megahed, Governor of North Sinai. Their discussions centered on enhancing cooperation between Denmark and Egypt, as well as Egypt's ongoing efforts to ensure peace and stability in Sinai.
Governor Megahed gave an in-depth overview of Egypt’s broad logistical work in receiving, storing, organizing, and sending vital humanitarian aid to Gaza. He also escorted Ambassador Møller to the Rafah border crossing, a crucial gateway for aid into Gaza.
While at Rafah, both Ambassador Møller and Governor Megahed reiterated their countries’ firm commitments to finding a peaceful solution to the situation in Gaza.
The visit underlined the growing strategic partnership between Denmark and Egypt, as both countries work together to support humanitarian needs and encourage dialogue in the region.
