Turkish students embark on educational journey to Egypt
A group of enthusiastic Turkish students from Martyr Mehmet Güder Anadolu Imam Hatip High School has recently arrived in Cairo, Egypt, with the aim of deepening their understanding of the Arabic language and Islamic culture.
The students, aged between 15 and 18, were warmly welcomed by Turkish Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen and officials at his official Residence in Cairo, marking a positive milestone in the cultural and educational exchange between Turkey and Egypt.
During the reception, the ambassador expressed his strong support for Turkish students pursuing education abroad, particularly in fields such as Islamic studies and the sciences at esteemed institutions like Al-Azhar University.
“We encourage and welcome Turkish students who seek to study Arabic and expand their knowledge in both religious and scientific disciplines," he remarked. "Such initiatives not only enhance language acquisition but also foster mutual understanding and connection between our nations.”
The visit, filled with curiosity and excitement, provided an opportunity for the young learners to share their first impressions of Egypt. Many students spoke of sensing a unique closeness and cultural affinity between Egypt and Turkey. The embassy staff listened to their insights and encouraged the students to immerse themselves fully in the local culture.
To further enrich their experience, the students were advised to explore Cairo’s iconic landmarks, including the Citadel of Saladin, the Mosque of Ibn Tulun, the Sultan Hassan Mosque, the Imam Shafi'i Mosque and Shrine, as well as the Mehmet Ali Pasha and Hadim Suleyman Pasha Mosques—many of which are prominent sites of Islamic heritage and history.
This educational exchange is seen as a meaningful step in nurturing the next generation of scholars and fostering enduring ties between the two countries.
