Egypt and Pakistan hold high-level talks to expand military cooperation

Cairo, Egypt – Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Majeed Saqr, welcomed Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and his accompanying delegation for an official visit aimed at strengthening military ties between the two nations.


The distinguished Pakistani delegation received a formal reception, including a ceremonial welcome and the playing of both national anthems, at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Cairo.


During their meeting, the two military leaders discussed shared issues of mutual interest and explored ways to enhance military cooperation across a wide range of fields. General Saqr expressed deep appreciation for the longstanding relations between the Egyptian and Pakistani armed forces and stressed the importance of increasing military coordination and expanding collaboration for the mutual benefit of both countries.


General Mirza, in turn, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering strong military relations and promoting the exchange of expertise with Egypt’s armed forces in different areas in the coming period.


The official talks concluded with both sides signing a protocol to formalize the outcomes of their discussions. The signing was witnessed by Egypt’s Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, senior commanders from both militaries, as well as Pakistan’s ambassador and military attaché in Cairo.


This visit reinforces the enduring friendship between Egypt and Pakistan and highlights the two countries’ shared commitment to regional security and enhanced defense partnerships.
