Egypt voices deep alarm over US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, warns of regional instability
Egypt has voiced profound concern over recent events in Iran, strongly denouncing the escalating tensions that threaten both regional and global security.
In a statement released Sunday, Egypt’s foreign ministry reiterated its firm opposition to any breach of the United Nations Charter, urging unwavering respect for the sovereignty of all nations.
The statement followed coordinated US airstrikes that targeted three key Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and the Isfahan complex—utilizing stealth bombers and bunker-buster munitions.
Cairo cautioned against the increasing risk of plunging the Middle East into further turmoil and instability, stressing that lasting resolution can only be achieved through political dialogue and diplomatic negotiations, not through military intervention.
Egypt called on all involved parties to act with restraint, prioritize dialogue, and make every effort to prevent additional bloodshed.
The US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities were carried out in support of Israel’s ongoing conflict with Iran, which began on June 13.
In response, Iran appealed to the United Nations Security Council for an emergency session to denounce the US attacks on its nuclear sites.
