US presidential adviser praises Egypt’s role in Gaza ceasefire

Brussels – In remarks that reflect growing hopes for peace in the Middle East, Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the US President on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs, has welcomed Egypt’s mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza.

Boulos, speaking to Euronews while attending EU–US coordination meetings in Brussels, stated that the peace agreement set to be signed in Sharm El-Sheikh will open a new chapter of stability and security for the entire region.

Boulos described President Donald Trump’s forthcoming visit to witness the signing as a “real accomplishment,” emphasizing the broad support it enjoys from Arab, Islamic, and European partners. He expressed confidence that the agreement will bring comprehensive and lasting peace, closing a long chapter of conflict in the Middle East.

As part of international efforts to maintain the ceasefire, Boulos announced that the US will deploy 200 soldiers to Israel to monitor implementation and ensure stability.

Reflecting on the global context, Boulos voiced disappointment that President Trump did not receive this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, insisting that he “truly deserved” the honor for his role in ending hostilities in Gaza. He held out hope that Trump might win the award in the future, noting, “If anyone deserves the Nobel Peace Prize this year, it is President Trump.”

Turning to US–European relations, Boulos described ties as “good and productive,” even if occasional differences in perspective arise—a natural aspect, he said, of such strong international partnerships.

Boulos, born in 1971, is a Lebanese-American businessman and a senior adviser to US President Donald Trump.
