Egypt reaffirms unwavering support for Palestinian cause in meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister
Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly reiterated Egypt’s steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause during a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa in New Alamein City. The discussions focused on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Dr. Madbouly emphasized Egypt’s resolute rejection of any plans or attempts to displace the Palestinian people, condemning policies of home demolitions and settlement expansion in Palestinian territories. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to the unity of Palestinian lands in the West Bank and Gaza Strip under the leadership of the Palestinian Authority. Egypt continues to provide comprehensive support to Gaza through the Rafah crossing, which operates around the clock to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery.
The Egyptian Prime Minister highlighted Egypt’s intensive efforts, in coordination with Qatar and the United States, to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, ensure sustainable humanitarian aid, and support early recovery and reconstruction efforts. Egypt is preparing to host the Cairo Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza following a ceasefire. Dr. Madbouly also stressed Egypt’s adherence to international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, advocating for an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Dr. Mohammad Mustafa commended Egypt’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during this critical period for the Palestinian cause. He stated that Egypt’s firm opposition to forced displacement has been pivotal in keeping the Palestinian issue alive, adding that future Palestinian generations will remember Egypt’s principled stance. Dr. Mustafa urged the international community to disregard voices opposing Egypt’s supportive role and emphasized the importance of the Arab-Islamic plan for Gaza’s reconstruction without displacing its people.
The meeting was attended by Egyptian officials, including Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Social Solidarity Dr. Maya Morsi, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Ramallah, Ihab Sulaiman. The Palestinian delegation included Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Ziad Hab al-Rih, Health Minister Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan, Planning Minister Dr. Stefan Salama, Social Development and Relief Minister Dr. Samah Hamd, and Palestine’s Ambassador to Cairo, Diab Al-Louh.
Both sides underscored the importance of continued coordination, particularly in preparation for the Cairo Conference and in advancing the two-state solution. Dr. Mustafa expressed gratitude for Egypt’s institutions, particularly the Foreign Ministry, for their efforts in supporting Gaza and mobilizing international participation in the recent New York conference on the two-state solution. Discussions also covered coordination with donor countries to prepare for Gaza’s reconstruction, including planning, funding, and implementation mechanisms.
Foreign Minister Dr. Abdelatty highlighted the strong coordination between Egypt and Palestine, emphasizing the importance of engaging international donors for Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction while maintaining a political horizon for the Palestinian cause through the two-state solution.
