Grand Egyptian Museum official opening postponed
The official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, one of Egypt’s most anticipated cultural events, has been postponed to the last quarter of this year. The opening was previously scheduled for July 3, 2025.
This decision comes in light of ongoing regional developments, as announced by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Egyptian officials aim to ensure an international celebration worthy of Egypt’s rich history and cultural significance. The new opening date will be announced in due course, following coordination with all relevant parties.
The postponement reflects Egypt’s dedication to presenting an exceptional event under the best possible circumstances, allowing the world to fully experience the grandeur and unique heritage of Egyptian civilization.
In the meantime, the Grand Egyptian Museum remains open to visitors as part of its trial opening phase, continuing to welcome guests and sharing the wonders of ancient Egypt until the official inauguration later this year.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities remains committed to making the official opening a world-class event and looks forward to welcoming visitors from around the globe very soon.
