Egypt sets new record for agricultural exports

Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture, Alaa Farouk, announced that Egyptian agricultural exports have reached a record 6.5 million tons so far this year—a notable increase of over 600,000 tons compared to the same period last year.

According to the Ministry’s official report, citrus fruits topped the export list with over 1.9 million tons, followed by fresh potatoes (1.3 million tons), fresh onions (240,000 tons), beans (202,000 tons), and grapes (170,000 tons). Other significant exports include sweet potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, strawberries, mangoes, guavas, and pomegranates.

Minister Farouk emphasized that this achievement highlights the high quality and global competitiveness of Egyptian produce, earning increasing trust in international markets.

He attributed this success to the dedication of farmers, exporters, and agricultural specialists who consistently apply best practices. Farouk also expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in maintaining Egypt’s strong export reputation, and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to further growth and expanding into new markets.
