Egypt to modernize Giza Pyramids Sound and Light Show

Egypt's Commercial International Bank (CIB) has signed a medium-term financing agreement worth EGP 963 million (approximately $20 million) with OSL, an Orascom Investment Holding subsidiary, to develop the Sound and Light Show and visitor area at the Giza Pyramids.

The project aims to transform the site into a world-class cultural and entertainment destination, featuring a state-of-the-art sound and light show that tells the story of the Pyramids and Sphinx using the latest technology. The initiative is part of the Giza 2030 plan to enhance tourism and enrich visitor experiences at one of the world’s most iconic archaeological landmarks.

Engineer Naguib Sawiris, Chairman of Orascom Investment Holding, noted that the collaboration with CIB will help deliver a 21st-century show befitting Egypt’s heritage. CIB CEO Hisham Ezz Al-Arab emphasized that the bank is proud to support projects that combine economic development with the promotion of Egypt’s cultural identity.

Orascom's broader strategy includes comprehensive upgrades to the Giza Plateau tourism infrastructure to make it a top repeat destination for global visitors.
