Egypt hosts 13 nations in “Fly In Egypt Rally 2025” to boost sports tourism

Egypt has officially kicked off the fifth edition of the international “Fly In Egypt Rally 2025,” an exciting event bringing together aviation enthusiasts and professionals from 13 countries around the world.

The rally, taking place from October 10th to 18th, has been organized under the auspices of Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation, in coordination with the Ministries of Youth and Sports, and Tourism and Antiquities, in collaboration with the Egyptian Aviation Club and organizers “The Flying Pharaoh,” under the supervision of the World Air Sports Federation (FAI).

Launching from Sphinx International Airport, the rally takes participants on a breathtaking journey across Egypt, flying over a tapestry of historical sites and natural wonders before landing at Hurghada International Airport. Featuring 12 aircraft and over 30 pilots and navigators from diverse Arab and European countries, the event is a vibrant display of skill, camaraderie, and the sheer joy of exploration from the skies.

Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, praised the seamless collaboration between Egypt’s ministries and agencies, emphasizing that hosting such a prestigious event demonstrates the nation’s growing capability to organize world-class international gatherings. “This rally is more than just an aviation event – it’s a heartfelt message from the skies of Egypt to the world,” said El-Hefny. “Our skies welcome the world, and our people welcome all visitors with open arms. We are ready and able to host major global events to the highest standards.”

The rally, he added, plays a key role in promoting Egypt as a safe, exciting, and unique destination for sports and aerial tourism, helping to further cement its leadership in this dynamic sector.

Dr. Yasser Menissy, CEO of The Flying Pharaoh and chairman of the organizing group, expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support shown by the government and its partners. “Egypt has been a pioneer in civil aviation and air sports since 1910, and today, we remain dedicated to nurturing a culture of aviation among youth,” Menissy said. “The ‘Fly In Egypt’ Rally shines a spotlight on the country’s natural beauty and geographical diversity, offering an unparalleled perspective from above and helping to boost Egypt’s position on the global sports tourism map.”

As the rally’s planes soar over Egypt’s storied landscapes, making stops in several prominent cities and landmarks, the event stands as a testament to the country’s modern capabilities, spirit of partnership, and vision for tourism-driven growth. The final stage will culminate at Hurghada International Airport, closing eight days of aerial adventure and international friendship – and reminding the world that Egypt’s skies are always open to those with a love for flying and discovery.
