Egypt and Vietnam explore expanded defense cooperation at EDEX 2025

In a positive step toward strengthening strategic partnerships, Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Eng. Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense during the EDEX 2025 International Defense Exhibition. The meeting took place at the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production’s pavilion, situated at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

During the discussions, Minister Mostafa showcased Egypt’s advanced technological and industrial capabilities in military manufacturing. The Egyptian side presented prominent new defense products featured at EDEX 2025, including the “Rad’ 300” rocket launcher, the “Sina 806” recovery vehicle, the upgraded “Raad 200” launcher, and new armored steel products. Both parties engaged in constructive discussions on avenues to deepen cooperation in military manufacturing and other areas of mutual interest.

The talks come at a time of unprecedented growth in Egypt-Vietnam relations, following the recent elevation of bilateral ties to a “Comprehensive Partnership” – a development agreed upon by President El-Sisi and Vietnamese President Võ Văn Thưởng during their meeting in August.

Minister Mostafa emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts and opening new channels of bilateral collaboration, aimed at achieving shared interests and benefits for both friendly nations. The Vietnamese delegation in turn expressed its eagerness to cooperate with Egypt’s military production companies, acknowledging their central role in the region’s defense industry. The Vietnamese representatives also commended Egypt’s influential regional role and its contributions to international and Middle Eastern stability and security.

Furthermore, the Vietnamese delegation praised the high level of organization and professionalism displayed at EDEX 2025, underscoring Egypt’s ability to host world-class international exhibitions.

Both sides agreed on the importance of exchanging technical visits and delegations in the near future, enabling them to identify specific fields and mechanisms for expanding cooperation based on firsthand knowledge and mutual interests.

The meeting marks a significant milestone in Egypt and Vietnam’s growing partnership, reflecting a shared commitment to peace, security, and sustainable technological advancement.
