Football coach Mosimane finds hero’s welcome in Egypt
Former Al Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane expressed his appreciation for the way he is respected in Egypt, saying he feels even more valued there than in his home country, South Africa.
Speaking to SuperSport TV, Mosimane stated: “I think I am more appreciated outside South Africa, but I am still loved at home. In Egypt, they treat you like a legend. I see their respect every time I go out among the people—football gave me this opportunity.”
He compared the passionate support he receives in Egypt with the atmosphere in South Africa, emphasizing that coaching Al Ahly brings an intense level of recognition.
After Al Ahly, Mosimane managed clubs in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Iran. Despite rumors last year about a possible move to Egypt’s other giant club, Zamalek, the club denied any negotiations.
Mosimane led Al Ahly to five trophies during his tenure, winning 65 out of 102 matches.
