Egypt is a safe and welcoming destination for travelers, said world-famous Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass during a vibrant cultural evening in Chicago.
Dr. Hawass addressed a captivated, international audience in a public lecture titled “Secrets of Ancient Egyptian Civilization,” sharing new archaeological discoveries and inviting all to experience Egypt’s wonders firsthand.
He encouraged the audience to visit Egypt and discover its treasures, stressing the country’s ongoing efforts to preserve its heritage and further develop cultural tourism.
During his talk, Dr. Hawass recounted his latest findings from Saqqara and Luxor, two of Egypt’s most iconic archaeological sites.
He highlighted that both locations are still full of untold mysteries, with ongoing excavations revealing new details about Egypt’s pharaonic past.
These discoveries, he noted, are deepening understanding of ancient advancements in architecture, medicine, astronomy, engineering, and more.
The event also featured a well-attended book signing, where Dr. Hawass autographed four of his acclaimed works: Ramses II, Tutankhamun, Giza and the Pyramids, and Secrets of Pharaonic Egypt.
Many attendees were eager to meet Dr. Hawass, acquire signed copies, and take commemorative photos with one of archaeology’s most celebrated figures.
