South Sinai governor honors UNDP for sustainable community impact
In line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision to strengthen partnerships with international organizations and promote sustainable development across the nation, Major General Dr. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, hosted and honored Mr. Alessandro Fracassetti, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Egypt.
The heartfelt event took place in the Governor’s office in Sharm El-Sheikh, coinciding with the inauguration of the Gharkana Village Development Project at the Nabq Protected Area under the “Green Sharm” initiative.
Governor Mubarak warmly expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for Mr. Fracassetti’s remarkable efforts and distinguished service during his tenure in Egypt.
The Governor praised the significant role UNDP has played in supporting Egypt’s ambitious path towards a green economy, environmental preservation, and improving the quality of life for citizens—especially in environmentally sensitive regions like South Sinai.
