Egypt showcases food industry at Anuga 2015 in Germany
COLOGNE, GERMANY — Egypt has inaugurated its national pavilion at the Anuga International Food Exhibition, one of the world’s largest trade fairs for the food industry, taking place in Cologne from October 4 to 8.
This year, an impressive 92 Egyptian companies specializing in food industries are participating, occupying a space of 1,215 square meters. Additionally, approximately 30 other Egyptian companies are represented individually at the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by several prominent Egyptian officials, including Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Exhibitions and Conferences; Dr. Tarek El-Houby, Chairman of the Egyptian Food Safety Authority; Engineer Mahmoud Bazan, Chairman of the Food Export Council; and Ms. Maha Zakaria, Head of Egypt’s Commercial Office in Berlin.
The strong Egyptian presence at Anuga aligns with the country’s strategic plan, led by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, to boost exports and open new international markets for Egyptian products.
Overseas exhibitions such as Anuga are recognized by the ministry as significant platforms for connecting Egyptian producers with global industry leaders and buyers.
On the sidelines of Anuga, Egypt’s exhibition authority held productive talks with organizers of other major international fairs, including Anuga (Germany), SIAL (France), and FOODEX (Japan). Agreements were reached to provide further support and facilitation for Egyptian pavilions at future global exhibitions, aiming for even more distinctive Egyptian participation in the coming years.
