Egypt sends medical supplies to DR Congo, Uganda to help contain Ebola
Egypt has dispatched a shipment of medicines and medical supplies to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda as part of efforts to support the two countries’ response to Ebola outbreaks, officials said.
The delivery was arranged by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development in coordination with the Ministry of Health, according to a statement on Wednesday. The shipment aims to bolster ongoing measures to contain the virus and strengthen health services in affected areas.
Egypt said the initiative reflects its long‑standing policy of backing African nations during times of crisis, adding that public health security on the continent requires cooperation and shared responsibility.
The agency said it would continue providing developmental and humanitarian support to partner countries, stressing that Cairo’s approach is rooted in solidarity and joint action to help African states better withstand future emergencies.
