Iran FM urges international response after Israeli strikes
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke by phone with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, following recent Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities and residential areas.
According to Iranian news reports, Minister Araghchi described the strikes as a clear violation of international law and called on the global community—especially the United Nations Security Council—to strongly condemn such actions.
He warned that these attacks could push the region into a new cycle of violence, and emphasized Iran’s right to defend itself, stating, "Iran has responded and will respond decisively to these aggressive actions."
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s position, condemning the attacks and describing them as serious violations of international standards and Iranian sovereignty. He noted that China had voiced its opposition in international forums, such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the UN, while also calling for an end to ongoing hostilities.
