Egypt dispatches specialized medical convoy, supplies to Sudan
Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population announced the dispatch of a specialized medical convoy, including rare specialties, accompanied by significant quantities of medicines and medical supplies, to support Sudan. This initiative follows direct instructions from the Egyptian political leadership and is coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant authorities.
The move underscores the deep historical and fraternal ties between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples, as well as Egypt's leading role in supporting African nations and its commitment to providing assistance in all circumstances.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry's official spokesperson, stated that, in coordination with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, urgent medical support has been provided, including approximately 1.5 tons of medicines, supplies, and equipment. This aid aims to bolster Sudan's health sector and alleviate the current challenging health conditions.
The Egyptian medical convoy is scheduled to begin operations on Saturday, December 20, coinciding with the shipment of 200 filled oxygen cylinders to Sudan's Northern State. These supplies are directed to the city of Port Sudan, further demonstrating Egypt's ongoing support and strengthening solidarity between the two nations.
This latest aid effort comes amid continued humanitarian challenges in Sudan, highlighting Egypt's sustained commitment to regional stability and brotherhood.
