For his part, Minister van Weel reaffirmed the Netherlands’ commitment to deepening ties with Egypt, noting the strong bonds between the two countries. He also reiterated the Dutch government’s dedication to upholding its responsibilities under international conventions to safeguard diplomatic missions present in the Netherlands, including the Egyptian Embassy in The Hague. The Dutch Foreign Minister emphasized his country’s firm rejection of any unacceptable actions that may occur around foreign embassies in the Netherlands.

The conversation also addressed the latest developments related to the Palestinian issue. Minister Abdel Aaty outlined Egypt's ongoing efforts to bring an end to the war in Gaza and ensure the delivery of vital humanitarian aid. He welcomed international and regional initiatives, most recently by the US President, in pursuit of a ceasefire.

Minister Abdel Aaty highlighted the urgent need for unified international action to end the humanitarian crisis resulting from Israeli practices in Gaza, stressing the importance of respecting international law and humanitarian principles.
