Egypt and Turkey vow continued medical support for Palestinians
Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, held talks on Wednesday with Dr. Aziz Alper Biten, Director-General of Health at the Turkish Ministry of Health.
The bilateral meeting took place on the sidelines of the closing session of the First D-8 Ministerial Meeting on Health, hosted by Egypt over three days in the New Administrative Capital with the participation of health ministers and senior officials from the eight member states of the Developing Eight (D-8) organization.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the discussions focused on continuing joint cooperation to support medical services for Palestinian brothers and sisters, with particular emphasis on coordinating efforts to ensure uninterrupted healthcare for the wounded and injured.
The two sides also explored mechanisms to strengthen health coordination between Egypt and Turkey in the coming period, including opportunities for exchanging visits and technical expertise among medical teams, with the aim of sharing successful experiences and advancing the healthcare systems in both countries.
