President Sisi inspects Military Academy, engages with cadets on national, regional issues
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi paid a special visit to the Egyptian Military Academy at its new strategic headquarters in Egypt’s Administrative Capital. He was welcomed on arrival by Lieutenant General Ashraf Zaher, Director of the Academy, and the academy’s senior leaders.
The President began his visit by joining cadets for the dawn prayer. He then observed students taking part in their training activities, before sharing breakfast with them in an atmosphere of mutual respect, encouragement, and discipline.
During his tour, President El-Sisi spoke directly with the academy’s students about recent regional developments and internal affairs, engaging in open and thoughtful dialogue. He expressed his pride in the students’ dedication and discipline, emphasizing that these regular visits are an opportunity to check in on their well-being and ensure the educational programs continue to evolve—developing future leaders who are equipped to serve Egypt’s institutions with excellence.
President El-Sisi emphasized that the youth of Egypt are the key to building the country’s future, urging continued investment in their education and development nationwide. He noted that one of the Academy’s relatively new programs—the Military Medical College—was launched in response to Egyptian families’ hopes for world-class education and care for their sons and daughters. He also encouraged all community institutions, including media, mosques, and churches, to work together to inspire positive change across Egyptian society.
Addressing domestic matters, the President praised ongoing efforts to improve Egypt’s economic and security situation. However, he did acknowledge the impact of regional challenges, which have led to a significant loss of revenue—about $9 billion—from the Suez Canal in the past two years. He called for resilience and determination, highlighting lessons learned from other nations that have overcome hardships through commitment and hard work.
President El-Sisi commended the awareness, courage, and determination of the Egyptian people, especially in the face of recent challenges and turning points since 2011. He emphasized that the region is at a critical juncture, and every step must be carefully considered for the safety and future of the nation.
On regional issues, the President reiterated Egypt’s strong and genuine commitment to stopping the ongoing conflict in Gaza, supporting reconstruction, and ensuring humanitarian assistance reaches those in need, all while protecting the lives of Egyptian citizens. He addressed recent attacks on Egyptian embassies abroad, attributing them to ignorance and, in some cases, deliberate malice. President El-Sisi stressed Egypt’s peaceful approach on the world stage, but made it clear the country will always defend itself against harm.
He also welcomed the growing wave of international recognition for the State of Palestine and commended efforts—including those by former U.S. President Donald Trump—to help bring an end to the war in Gaza and restore peace.
President El-Sisi wrapped up his visit by encouraging cadets to maintain their awareness, morale, health, and faith. He conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the Egyptian people, and ended with words of faith and reassurance: “We always have trust in God… in the justice of our cause… and in the integrity and devotion of our journey.”
Finally, the President extended his sincere wishes for the students’ success and expressed his gratitude to their families for raising a generation ready to serve and safeguard Egypt’s future.
