Landmark hospitality project announces “Rixos” debut in Cairo

In a major development for Egypt’s hospitality and tourism sector, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly presided over the signing ceremony of the “Rixos & Rixos Living – Cairo World Trade Center” project.

This milestone agreement introduces the renowned Rixos brand to downtown Cairo for the very first time, marking a vibrant new chapter for both visitors and residents in the Egyptian capital.

During an event attended by top national and international dignitaries, including Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Mr. Sherif Fathy and Minister of Investment & Foreign Trade Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, Cairo World Trade Center Company and Rixos Hospitality Egypt formally committed to this exciting partnership. The ceremony drew the presence of hospitality executives, business leaders, and government officials, underlining the project’s significance to Egypt’s economic and urban landscape.

Prime Minister Madbouly expressed his enthusiasm, stating:

“Launching this landmark project with such a distinguished global hospitality partner reflects Egypt’s commitment to revitalizing downtown Cairo. We are fully leveraging the area’s unique assets to boost inward tourism, expand our hotel capacity, and create exceptional guest experiences for international and local visitors alike.”

The Rixos project is poised to redefine Cairo’s central business district. Set along the iconic Nile Corniche, the development will offer unobstructed views of the Nile and will be uniquely positioned near Egypt’s most legendary attractions – including the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Pyramids – with easy access to Cairo International Airport.

Mr. Francois Baudin, Chairman of Rixos Hospitality Egypt, shared his excitement:

“This project marks a key milestone in our ongoing expansion throughout Egypt and the broader Middle East and North Africa. Rixos Cairo World Trade Center will be a vibrant urban destination anchored by our signature contemporary hospitality, and will introduce the global debut of Rixos Living – our upscale serviced residence concept.”

Expected to open in phases starting in 2027, the project will comprise two elegant towers standing above extensive podiums featuring social, wellness, and dining facilities. The South Tower, opening in 2027, will be dedicated to Rixos Living serviced residences, while the North Tower, set to follow in 2028, will house the hotel and a selection of residential apartments. Altogether, the complex will offer more than 364 units, with 176 Rixos hotel rooms and 188 serviced residences.

Eng. Ramadan Alwasty El Arnawoty, Managing Director of Cairo World Trade Center Company, highlighted the project’s role in downtown Cairo’s revitalization:

“Reimagining the World Trade Center as a leading destination for business, leisure, and modern living represents a significant investment in our city’s future. With its blend of hospitality, residences, retail, and office space, Rixos Cairo WTC will set a new standard for urban destinations in Egypt.”

The Cairo World Trade Center complex has long been a fixture on the city’s skyline, renowned as a regional hub for conferences, international trade events, and major exhibitions. The new development will expand these offerings, with Rixos overseeing a fully renewed mall, conference facilities, and a vibrant mix of dining and lifestyle options serving guests, residents, and the broader community.

By integrating leading-edge business infrastructure, luxury living, exceptional cuisine, and proximity to the very best of Egypt’s heritage, “Rixos & Rixos Living – Cairo World Trade Center” is poised to become a benchmark for integrated urban living and tourism in the region.
