“The Noble Artist” exhibition celebrates the legacy of Ashraf El-Hady

Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henno, has inaugurated a special retrospective art exhibition dedicated to the late Ashraf El-Hady, a prominent Egyptian graphic artist under the title “The Noble Artist.”

The exhibition is being held at the Gezira Art Center in Zamalek and will be open to the public until June 26, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., except on Fridays.

The event highlights the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to honoring creative pioneers who have significantly enriched Egypt’s art scene with their talent and innovation.

This special exhibition features a carefully selected collection from Ashraf El-Hady’s body of work, reflecting important stages in his artistic and academic journey.

During the opening, Dr. Henno praised Ashraf El-Hady as a model artist-scholar who didn’t just practice art, but continuously deepened his vision through study and experimentation. This exhibition, Dr. Henno said, is a heartfelt tribute to El-Hady’s remarkable contributions to the field of graphic arts and visual culture in Egypt.

Ashraf El-Hady is remembered as one of Egypt’s leading graphic artists. He earned his Fine Arts degree from Minya University, followed by a diploma in art criticism and aesthetics, a Master’s degree from Helwan University, and advanced studies in Florence, Italy and Kyoto, Japan.

His distinguished academic journey culminated in a PhD in Art Philosophy from Minya University. Throughout his life, he participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Egypt and abroad, receiving several prestigious awards.

If you are in Cairo, this exhibition offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the legacy of a truly inspiring figure in modern Egyptian art.
