Egypt and Kuwait chart path for greater economic collaboration
Kuwait and Egypt have reaffirmed their close partnership and signaled new levels of collaboration following a high-level meeting in Kuwait’s capital today.
Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Transport, Major General Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, met with Kuwait’s Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, for discussions focused on investment, infrastructure, and shared development goals.
The two leaders highlighted the historic and “brotherly” ties that unite their countries, with Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled praising Egypt’s influential role in the Arab world and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s ongoing efforts to foster regional unity and progress.
Minister Al-Wazir, in turn, conveyed President Sisi’s greetings and gratitude for Kuwait’s warm welcome, emphasizing the deepening political and economic relationship between the nations.
During their talks, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in maritime ports, logistics, and large-scale infrastructure projects—sectors seen as vital for shared prosperity. Egypt, which has made significant progress in improving its investment climate, brought a delegation of leaders from 17 prominent companies eager to forge new partnerships with their Kuwaiti counterparts. The aim is to advance joint projects that meet Kuwait’s development priorities and high quality standards.
Officials from both countries, including Kuwait’s Minister of Public Works and Transport, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Osama Shaltout, attended the meeting, underscoring the importance of this strategic partnership.
The visit concluded with a spirit of optimism, as both sides agreed to continue exploring new opportunities, support each other’s development visions, and further strengthen the enduring friendship between Kuwait and Egypt.
