Egypt and Kazakhstan strengthen religious and cultural ties

Egypt’s Minister of Religious Endowments, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, met with Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Cairo, Zhenis Askar Zhenisuly, at the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs to discuss deepening cooperation in religious and cultural spheres.


During the meeting, Minister Al-Azhari emphasized Egypt’s pride in the shared cultural legacy embodied by the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture in Kazakhstan. 


He highlighted the ministry’s commitment to enhancing ties with Kazakh religious institutions through initiatives such as exchanging scholarly and missionary expertise, hosting imams and researchers, and organizing joint seminars and conferences. 


These efforts aim to address contemporary intellectual issues and promote values of tolerance and coexistence.


Ambassador Askar expressed appreciation for the Egyptian Ministry of Religious Endowments’ role in spreading moderate and enlightened Islamic thought. He underscored Kazakhstan’s interest in advancing collaboration in religious training, exchanging Islamic publications and manuscripts, and organizing joint activities to strengthen the historical bonds and shared human values between the two nations.


This meeting marks a significant step toward fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between Egypt and Kazakhstan in the religious and cultural domains.
