Egypt declares 'full solidarity' with Kuwait following attacks
Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called his Kuwaiti counterpart on Thursday to declare Cairo’s "full solidarity" with the Gulf state following recent attacks, stressing that Gulf security is directly tied to Egypt's own national security.
During the phone call with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Abdelatty strongly condemned the "blatant attacks" targeting Kuwait, according to an Egyptian foreign ministry statement.
"The security and stability of the State of Kuwait and the rest of the brotherly Gulf states is an integral part of Egyptian national security," Abdelatty said, reaffirming Cairo's backing of all measures Kuwait takes to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The two ministers also exchanged views on unfolding regional developments, specifically focusing on ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran.
Abdelatty expressed hope that these diplomatic efforts would yield an agreement capable of halting the current conflict in the region. However, he emphasized that any deal must address the specific security anxieties of Arab Gulf states.
"Any agreement must take into account the security concerns of our brothers in the Gulf to ensure the protection of Arab national security and achieve sustainable stability in the region," the Egyptian minister said.
