Egypt steps up as a pharma hub, deepening ties with global leaders
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has taken a significant step towards bolstering the country’s pharmaceutical sector, holding high-level talks this week with representatives from Sandoz, a leading global pharmaceuticals company.
Dr. Ali El Ghamrawy, Chairman of the EDA, met with Sandoz Egypt’s delegation to explore enhanced cooperation as part of Egypt’s strategic push to attract international investment, localize drug manufacturing, and expand access to high-quality medicines.
The meeting focused on opportunities for joint initiatives, including new regional projects and memorandums of understanding aimed at increasing the availability of effective medicines in the Egyptian market. Both sides discussed sector challenges, ongoing regulatory reforms, and promising prospects for Sandoz to serve as a strategic partner in Egypt’s evolving healthcare landscape.

Dr. Ahmed Bedeir, the new President of Sandoz Egypt and Libya, expressed optimism about deepening the company’s presence in the Egyptian market and contributing to its growth strategy. He emphasized Sandoz’s ongoing role as a trusted partner in the Egyptian pharmaceutical industry.
Outgoing Sandoz Egypt and Libya President Dr. Sameh El-Bagoury thanked the EDA for its constructive collaboration, highlighting the company’s continued commitment to innovation and advanced medical solutions tailored to local needs.
