Egypt continues humanitarian support to Gaza amid ongoing crisis
The Egyptian Red Crescent has been working tirelessly since the outbreak of conflict in Gaza to ensure the steady flow of humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians, according to Dr. Amal Emam, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent.
Dr. Emam stated that Egypt has now sent more than 36,000 aid trucks carrying over half a million tons of vital food, medical supplies, and relief materials to Gaza—a record-breaking effort making it one of the largest humanitarian operations the region has seen.
Beyond logistics, Dr. Emam emphasized that Egypt’s support also includes intensive diplomatic efforts to secure access for aid convoys, and ongoing coordination with the international community. These efforts continue despite significant challenges and restrictions imposed by occupying authorities on entry routes.
Commending the close cooperation between government entities and civil society—including the National Alliance for Civil Development Action—Dr. Emam described the collective response as a “national epic,” reflecting unparalleled unity and dedication by the Egyptian people in support of Gaza.
She also highlighted the crucial role played by the North Sinai local authorities in facilitating these humanitarian efforts, and expressed deep pride in the Egyptian Red Crescent’s dedicated volunteers. “Our aid does not just bring food and medicine, but also heartfelt messages of solidarity and compassion from the people of Egypt to the people of Palestine,” Dr. Emam said.
