Egypt explores Turkish partnership to bolster hotel investment
Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Sherif Fathy, welcomed Mr. Nafi Güral, Founder of Turkey’s NG Hotels Group, and Mr. Erkan Güral, Chairman of the Group, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital today.
The meeting, attended by senior Egyptian tourism officials, focused on expanding hotel investment across Egypt’s coastal tourist destinations.
Minister Fathy emphasized Egypt’s commitment to supporting and encouraging tourism investment, noting the country’s rich array of world-class attractions and significant opportunities for new hotel ventures. He outlined the Ministry’s strategy to increase hotel capacity, aiming to accommodate an expected surge in international arrivals, especially after the positive growth seen in tourist numbers during the first half of this year.
Highlighting the growth of Turkish tourism to Egypt, Minister Fathy revealed that arrivals from Turkey rose by 56.5% between January and July 2025 compared to the same period last year. The Minister expressed the government’s aspirations to attract even more Turkish visitors and boost cooperation between the two countries’ tourism sectors.
The discussions spotlighted investment opportunities in well-known Egyptian destinations such as Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and the North Coast, areas where NG Hotels Group has shown keen interest. Marsa Alam, identified for its promising tourism potential, was also presented as an attractive option.
Mr. Erkan Güral shared details of NG Hotels Group’s growth since its foundation in 2008, including the opening of several hotels across key Turkish destinations and its ambitious future expansion plans. He expressed strong interest in investing in Egypt’s hospitality sector and affirmed the Group’s readiness to collaborate with Egyptian partners.
The talks demonstrate Egypt’s ongoing efforts to foster international partnerships to further develop its robust and growing tourism sector.
