Egypt’s Nouran Gohar reaches squash semi-finals in Canada
Canadian squash fans are witnessing thrilling performances at the "Eight Greats" squash tournament, currently underway from June 23 to June 27. Egyptian squash champion Nouran Gohar has secured her place in the semi-finals after an impressive run in her group matches.
Gohar clinched her semi-final spot by defeating Belgium’s Tinne Gilis in straight sets, 2-0 (11-2, 11-4), firmly establishing herself at the top of her group’s standings. She previously achieved a hard-fought victory over American Amanda Sobhy, winning 2-1 (11-6, 10-11, 11-6).
In her next group match, Gohar is set to face England’s Georgina Kennedy. This match will determine the group leader as the tournament heads towards its final stages.
Group one features Nouran Gohar, America’s Amanda Sobhy, England’s Georgina Kennedy, and Belgium’s Tinne Gilis. Group two includes Egypt’s Fayrouz Aboelkheir, Japan’s Satomi Watanabe, America’s Olivia Weaver, and Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam.
