Egypt launches Ramadan Health for Every Family campaign

Egypt’s General Authority for Healthcare has launched its annual “Ramadan Health for Every Family” campaign for 2026, aiming to provide comprehensive medical support and health awareness during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative targets beneficiaries of the country’s Universal Health Insurance System across six governorates.

Dr. Ahmed El‑Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare, said the campaign — now in its fourth year — reflects the government’s commitment to improving healthcare quality, particularly for chronic disease patients, the elderly, and vulnerable groups who require continuous and specialized care. The campaign will run throughout the month of Ramadan.

According to El‑Sobky, the initiative aims to reach 575,000 beneficiaries in the governorates of Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai, Suez, and Aswan. A total of 562 mobile medical teams, supported by mobile clinics, will conduct follow‑ups, early detection, and health assessments across all targeted areas.

The campaign focuses on three key groups:

• Patients who require regular follow‑up and medication

• Patients receiving home‑based medical care

• Individuals targeted for early detection and initial screening of chronic diseases and related complications

For the first time, this year’s campaign will also include vision screening for children, in addition to monitoring patients with diabetes, hypertension, or both conditions, as well as high‑risk groups including the elderly, people with disabilities, low‑income families, and patients with serious health conditions.

El‑Sobky added that the campaign offers a wide range of services, including regular medical checkups, health education, home delivery of medications for chronic disease patients, and distribution of educational materials to promote healthier lifestyles during Ramadan. Medical and nutritional consultations tailored to each patient’s condition will also be provided, alongside training for family members on insulin administration and recognizing signs of high or low blood sugar and blood pressure.

He emphasized that the initiative aligns with Egypt’s national strategy to expand preventive health services, promote early disease detection, and reduce complications among vulnerable populations.
