Sisi backs Bahrain, condemns Iranian attacks

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi spoke by phone on Monday with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al‑Khalifa, reaffirming Cairo’s rejection of recent Iranian attacks on the Gulf kingdom, the Egyptian presidency said.

Presidential spokesman Mohamed El‑Shenawy said Sisi stressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Bahrain and all Gulf states “in facing current challenges,” adding that Cairo stood ready to provide any support necessary to help preserve regional security and stability.

Sisi told the king that Egypt was continuing intensive regional and international contacts aimed at securing an early end to the ongoing conflict, and praised Bahrain’s role in supporting de‑escalation efforts.

According to the spokesman, King Hamad expressed deep appreciation for Sisi’s steadfast backing of Bahrain and the Gulf, saying Manama was keen to maintain close coordination with Egypt and other Arab partners to avoid further escalation and work toward a swift end to the war.

Sisi reiterated that the security of the Gulf is an integral part of Egypt’s national security and called for strengthened cooperation among Arab states to confront current challenges and reinforce the concept of collective Arab security against external threats.
