Egypt finalizes preparations to host 2025 IHF Men’s Youth World Championship
Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, met with Dr. Hassan Moustafa, President of the International Handball Federation (IHF), to discuss final preparations for the upcoming IHF Men’s Youth World Championship, set to take place in Egypt from August 6 to 17, 2025.
The coordination meeting, which also included the championship’s organizing committee, focused on reviewing the latest updates regarding organizational and logistical arrangements. Both sides emphasized the importance of overcoming any potential challenges and intensifying efforts to ensure the tournament reflects Egypt’s leading role in international sports.
Minister Sobhy highlighted Egypt’s commitment—under the leadership’s guidance—to delivering an exceptional event, showcasing the nation’s organizational, technical, and logistical capabilities. He confirmed that preparations are progressing according to plan, adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.
“Hosting major international tournaments is a testament to the world’s trust in Egypt’s capabilities,” said Minister Sobhy. “We aim to reinforce Egypt’s status as a global sports destination and demonstrate the professionalism with which we can organize major sporting events.”
Dr. Hassan Moustafa, President of the IHF, expressed his confidence in Egypt’s ability to host the championship at the highest levels of professionalism, applauding the fruitful collaboration between the IHF, the Ministry, and the Egyptian Handball Federation. Dr. Moustafa praised Egypt as a global model for organizing large-scale sports events.
Both the Ministry and IHF officials agreed to intensify daily monitoring in the remaining days before the tournament to resolve any pending issues and ensure the unified efforts of all teams, aiming to deliver an outstanding championship experience for participants and fans alike.
The championship will welcome 32 national teams from around the world, and matches will be held across three world-class venues: the Indoor Hall at Cairo International Stadium, Dr. Hassan Moustafa Hall in 6th of October City, and the Al-Nady Al-Nady Hall in the New Administrative Capital. This event will once again showcase Egypt’s readiness and robust sports infrastructure to host the highest level of international competitions.
