Zhejiang International Engineering Expo in Cairo fosters Egypt-China business ties
Cairo, Egypt – The Zhejiang (Egypt) International Engineering Exhibition was recently held to great acclaim at Cairo’s International Exhibition Center, showcasing the technological advances and innovative solutions of leading Zhejiang-based firms to a diverse international audience.
Over three days (from June 17-19), the event welcomed more than 920 professional buyers from over 20 countries and regions.
During the expo, preliminary agreements for commercial cooperation valued at approximately USD 6 million were reached. Exhibitors presented their latest advancements through hands-on product displays and specialized technical briefings, demonstrating the strength and competitiveness of Chinese companies in the engineering sector.
Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang wrote on his Facebook account that Egypt’s strategic location—at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe—has made it a cornerstone in advancing the Belt and Road Initiative throughout Africa.
“In recent years, the nation has launched several key strategies, including Egypt Vision 2030, the construction of a new administrative capital, and ongoing development of the Suez Canal Corridor.
“These ambitious initiatives have fostered rapid growth in Egypt’s construction and renewable energy sectors, offering broad opportunities for Zhejiang companies to participate in the country’s infrastructure expansion.”
The success of the exhibition, he added, not only underlines the enduring friendship between China and Egypt but also highlights the growing synergy in technological innovation and economic development between the two nations.
