China envoy calls Trump’s Beijing visit “highly successful”
China’s ambassador to Egypt said on Saturday that US President Donald Trump’s visit to Beijing marked the first trip by an American leader to China in nine years, calling the talks with President Xi Jinping “highly successful.”
Speaking to Al Qahera News, the ambassador said Beijing had attached “great importance” to Trump’s visit, describing the summit as defined by “mutual respect, a commitment to peace, and a search for new opportunities for cooperation.”
According to the ambassador, Trump and Xi discussed ways to “build a correct path” for managing relations between the two countries. He added that 2026 “could be a historic year” in the development of bilateral ties.
