Egyptian and Turkish leaders meet on sidelines of Doha summit
Today in Doha, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a significant meeting.
According to the official spokesperson for Egypt’s presidency, both leaders emphasized the growing momentum in relations between Egypt and Turkey. They highlighted their ongoing coordination at both bilateral and regional levels, as well as within international forums.
During their discussions, Presidents El-Sisi and Erdoğan strongly condemned the recent Israeli attacks, describing them as a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The two leaders firmly rejected policies of blockade and starvation that are impacting Palestinians and called for an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
They reiterated that the only path to lasting peace in the region is the implementation of a two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to internationally recognized resolutions.
The meeting also addressed developments in other countries across the region. Both presidents stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and unity of all nations and reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing consultation, coordination, and joint action to restore regional stability.
