Egyptian flyboard athlete dies during stunt performance in Hurghada
Mahmoud Abdel Ghany, a well-known Egyptian flyboard athlete, tragically died while performing a stunt at a swimming pool in the Sahl Hasheesh resort area, south of Hurghada, Egypt.
During the public demonstration, Abdel Ghany, 44, lost his balance while executing an aerial maneuver and struck his head severely on the pool’s marble edge. The impact resulted in serious head injuries and internal bleeding, causing his immediate death.
Emergency services responded swiftly to reports of the incident. Police and medical authorities confirmed that Abdel Ghany suffered multiple skull fractures and severe head trauma. Following the completion of official procedures and a preliminary investigation by the public prosecution, his remains were transported to his hometown in Menoufia for burial.
The incident deeply saddened Egypt’s water sports community, where Abdel Ghany was recognized for his skill and dedication to the sport. He is mourned by family, friends, and fans.
