Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, delivered a significant address at the Egyptian Society for Political Economy and Legislation, emphasizing Egypt’s balanced foreign policy approach and commitment to global cooperation.

Welcoming attendees, Dr. Abdel Aaty praised the Society’s pivotal role within academic and legal circles, acknowledging its contribution to advancing Egypt’s national interests. He outlined recent developments in Egyptian diplomacy, underscoring efforts to diversify international partnerships. Central to this strategy, he noted, is the "principle of strategic balance," championed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which guides the nation’s foreign policy amid evolving global dynamics.

Dr. Abdel Aaty also stressed Egypt’s active participation in international organizations, reaffirming the country’s dedication to supporting peace and security at both regional and global levels. He called for the creation of a more equitable international order, one that upholds the United Nations Charter and the fundamentals of international law.

Highlighting economic dimensions, the Foreign Minister shared how the Ministry has played a key role in promoting investment and showcasing Egypt’s many economic opportunities. Efforts to facilitate the entry of Egyptian products into overseas markets have been bolstered by providing investors with essential information about Egypt’s investment climate, he said. Dr. Abdel Aaty emphasized that development is a core pillar of Egypt’s foreign policy, reflecting a harmonious integration between foreign policy objectives and the nation’s ongoing comprehensive development.

Addressing the Egyptian diaspora, Dr. Abdel Aaty expressed the government’s deep appreciation for Egyptians living abroad. He described initiatives to modernize consular services through digitalization and outlined several programs aimed at strengthening the vital bonds between Egyptians overseas and their homeland.

On international affairs, the Foreign Minister reiterated Egypt’s steadfast position on key regional and global issues, foremost among them the Palestinian question. He described Egypt’s tireless efforts to advance the next stage of the U.S. peace initiative, including the start of the Palestinian technocratic committee’s work, the deployment of an international stabilization force to oversee a ceasefire, Israel’s full withdrawal from Gaza, and the beginning of early recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Dr. Abdel Aaty also addressed the critical matter of water security, especially relating to the Nile Basin. He called for cooperative solutions based on international law, firmly rejecting any unilateral actions that could threaten the shared resources of the Eastern Nile.

This address signals Egypt’s ongoing commitment to balanced diplomacy, national development, and constructive engagement with the international community.
