Palestine welcomes global call for Gaza ceasefire and aid
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed a joint statement issued by the United Kingdom alongside the foreign ministers of 24 other nations, as well as the European Union Commissioner for Crisis Management, urging an immediate end to Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip. The statement also condemned the continued blockade of humanitarian aid and the killing of Palestinian civilians.
According to a ministry statement released on Monday via the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the international call reflects growing global alarm over the devastating impact of the conflict, particularly the loss of civilian life during desperate attempts to reach food and water, often at so-called "distribution points of death." The Ministry strongly noted the international community's condemnation of the deaths of children and other civilians as a result of hunger and thirst in Gaza.
Palestinian authorities described the joint declaration as an important step by the international community to address the humanitarian crisis and press for an end to the violence that has gripped Gaza for months.
