Egypt and UAE leaders strengthen ties in Cairo summit
Today, at the Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, during a fraternal visit to Egypt. The visit, during which Sheikh Mohamed is an honored guest in his second homeland, reflects the ongoing consultation and close coordination between the leadership of the two brotherly nations.
According to the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the meeting included an expanded session with delegations from both countries, followed by a closed bilateral meeting between the two leaders, and concluded with a working lunch hosted in honor of the UAE President and his accompanying delegation.
President El-Sisi opened the meeting by emphasizing the deep and robust bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE, praising the significant progress in cooperation across various fields, particularly in trade and investment. He reiterated Egypt’s commitment to removing obstacles to UAE investments and highlighted the remarkable growth in economic ties between the two nations.
In response, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed commended the significant improvements in Egypt’s investment climate, reflecting the country’s efforts to enhance the business environment and attract investments.
The discussions also addressed regional developments, with a focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip. Both leaders welcomed the initiative proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to halt the war in Gaza, underscoring the importance of supporting this peace initiative to pave the way for a lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.
