President Sisi reviews progress of “Future Egypt”
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President for Urban Planning, and Colonel Dr. Bahaa El-Ghanam, Executive Director of the “Future Egypt” Authority for Sustainable Development.
According to Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the Official Spokesperson for the Presidency, the meeting focused on updates regarding the implementation of projects under the “Future Egypt” authority.
These projects encompass a wide range of activities, including agriculture, industry, livestock, urban development, and the creation of direct and indirect job opportunities, in partnership with the private sector.
Colonel Dr. El-Ghanam presented efforts to expand agricultural activities in the “New Delta” region in the western hinterland, as well as projects in southern Egypt and the Future Egypt Industrial City.
He also highlighted ongoing collaboration with the Ministries of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Supply and Internal Trade, to develop the commodity exchange and other initiatives. Additionally, the authority's efforts to ensure the availability of strategic goods through projects aimed at enhancing storage capacities for essential crops and commodities were reviewed, contributing to meeting the nation’s needs.
The spokesperson noted that President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with the private sector and attracting foreign investments to achieve self-sufficiency in strategic goods, ensuring the sustainable provision of citizens’ needs.
The President directed full support for strategically significant projects, particularly the development of grain and crop storage silos, while continuing the state’s plan to expand agricultural land, increase production, and enhance the agro-industrial system. He stressed the need to balance the interests of producers and consumers within the framework of comprehensive development.
The meeting also covered the role of the “Future Egypt” authority in urban development projects. Colonel Dr. El-Ghanam outlined progress on the establishment of an eco-friendly city, developed in collaboration with leading real estate developers, aimed at promoting environmental and climate-focused investments.
In concluding the meeting, President El-Sisi underscored the critical importance of the “Future Egypt” projects across various sectors, describing them as a cornerstone of the state’s plan to achieve sustainable development in its economic, social, and environmental dimensions. He emphasized the necessity of adhering to designated timelines for the completion and implementation of these projects.
