Omani FM praises Grand Egyptian Museum during official visit

Oman's Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, lauded the Grand Egyptian Museum as a testament to Egypt’s rich history and its far-reaching contributions to human civilization. 

His remarks came during a special visit to the landmark museum, where he explored its world-class exhibits and collections.  


The Grand Egyptian Museum, located near the Great Pyramids of Giza, houses an extraordinary array of unique archaeological treasures. 


Among the highlights of Minister Al Busaidi’s visit were the majestic statue of King Ramses II, the renowned collection of treasures from King Tutankhamun, and the solar boats of King Khufu. 


The minister also viewed artifacts spanning Egypt’s ancient Old and Middle Kingdoms, each reflecting the remarkable development of art, architecture, and thought in ancient Egyptian civilization.  


Guided through the museum’s galleries, Minister Al Busaidi was impressed by the advanced presentation methods and state-of-the-art preservation techniques being used to safeguard this priceless cultural heritage for future generations. 


He received in-depth explanations of the museum’s various sections, as well as the extensive efforts behind showcasing different periods of Egyptian history.  


In his remarks, Minister Al Busaidi praised the cultural and civilizational role the Grand Egyptian Museum plays in highlighting the enduring legacy of Egypt. 


He also emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural cooperation and knowledge exchange between the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt, noting that such collaboration contributes to closer cultural ties and mutual understanding between the two nations.  


This visit is seen as a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted relationship between Oman and Egypt, and highlights both countries’ commitment to celebrating and preserving shared human heritage.
