Egypt launches youth trips to N. Sinai to promote national unity, development awareness

In a new initiative aimed at fostering national unity and promoting development awareness among young people, Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports has launched the first group of youth excursions to North Sinai. The program, operating under the guidance of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, seeks to strengthen the sense of belonging among Egypt’s youth and encourage firsthand understanding of the country’s diverse regions and ongoing development programs.

The first delegation, comprising young participants from across Egypt's governorates, departed today for the cities of Arish and New Rafah. During this journey, they will learn about vital national and development projects transforming the region, discover cultural and historical sites, and build connections with peers from other regions.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, attended the official send-off. In his remarks, Dr. Sobhy expressed his pride in this step, emphasizing that North Sinai holds a special place in the hearts of Egyptians as a symbol of resilience and sacrifice. He highlighted the importance of giving the country’s youth opportunities to witness, firsthand, the state's efforts in reconstructing and developing this strategic region.

Dr. Sobhy invited all participants to deeply engage in the trip’s cultural, developmental, and heritage activities, encouraging them to return with a richer appreciation for their homeland and a greater commitment to its progress.

He concluded by reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to continuing such educational and experiential programs, saying: “Building an informed, aware, and engaged generation is essential to Egypt’s development and future.”

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to foster knowledge, unity, and civic participation among the country’s youth, opening doors for the next generation to actively contribute to Egypt’s ongoing journey of growth and development.
