Pyramids FC clinch historic CAF Champions League title in Cairo
Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, attended the final match of the CAF Champions League between Egypt’s Pyramids FC and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns. The match was held at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo on June 1 .
Following Pyramids FC’s historic 2-1 victory over Sundowns in the decisive leg of the final, Dr. Sobhy extended his heartfelt congratulations to the club’s management, coaching staff, players, and Egyptian football fans for the team’s landmark achievement in winning the prestigious continental title.
Dr. Sobhy praised the team’s discipline and heroic performance throughout the tournament, emphasizing that this milestone represents a significant contribution to Egyptian football on the African stage.
He further highlighted that the sustained support for sports in Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, has been a driving force behind the country’s recent sporting successes.
